Dogfight F-15 vs F-16 recorded by an IMAX High Def. cam. during Operation Red Flag.

F-16 low fly by

Air Force F16 fighter jet (technically an F16N---denoting it was sold to the Navy---but this aircraft is mainly used by the USAF rather than Navy) vs the F14 Navy Aircraft. Instructors are piloting the F-16, students are in the F-14s. Enjoy =)

Check this out! Please give your rating!

This fly by took place in Fort Worth, Texas on 15th of September during rollout ceremony. First four polish F-16 will join into the service in Polish Air Force on 9th of November this year :)

An F-16 from the RNoAF on full afterburn at the Kjevik Air Base, burning up a few tax payers dollars. Do excuse the retarded kids at the end. PS: Be sure to check out the video responses for more awesome Afterburner action from the F-16!

A Thunderbirds F16 Pilot must eject. After take off and a steep climb into a long inverted roll, he comes back around and runs out of sky. Notice how close he is to the ground before letting her go.

http://www.aviationlive.org Online Aviation Pics,Videos and Forum VIDEO EDITED BY EN52 ##SAS73 dont you dare steal the video and reupload it in PA's## The F-16 Fighting Falcon is an American multirole jet fighter aircraft developed by General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin for the United States Air Force. Designed as a lightweight fighter, it evolved into a successful multirole aircraft. The Falcon's versatility is a paramount reason it was a success on the export market, serving 24 countries. The F-16 is the largest Western fighter program with over 4,000 aircraft built since production started in 1976. Though no longer produced for the US Air Force, it is still produced for export. The Fighting Falcon is a dogfighter with innovations including a frameless, bubble canopy for better visibility, side-mounted control stick to ease control while under high g-forces, and reclined seat to reduce the effect of g-forces on the pilot. It was also the first fighter aircraft to be deliberately built to sustain 9g turns. It is also one of the few jets with a thrust-to-weight ratio greater than one, giving the Falcon excellent acceleration. Although the F-16's official name is "Fighting Falcon", it is known to its pilots as the "Viper", after the Battlestar Galactica starfighter. In 1993,General Dynamics sold its aircraft manufacturing business to the Lockheed Corporation, which in turn became part of Lockheed Martin after a 1995 merger with Martin Marietta. The Indian Ministry of Defense is looking to acquire up to 126 modern fighters to begin replacing its aging fleet of MiG-21s, and the Lockheed Martin F-16 is one of several competitors being offered; however, the Indian Air Force has not yet released the request for proposals for its Medium Multi-Role Combat Aircraft (M-MRCA) competition , as it is still refining its requirements. In November 2006, the Pakistan Air Force signed a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) for 18 new-built F-16C/D Block 52+, 26 F-16A/B Block 15 and 60 Mid-Life-Update M3 Tape modules/kits as part of a $5.1bn deal including fighter aircraft, their related infrastructure, training and ammunition. Deliveries of the F-16A/Bs are expected to begin in 2007, while the initial F-16C/Ds will likely be received sometime in late 2008 or early 2009. The current procurement program of new-built aircraft as well as refurbishment and upgrade of sixty used and serving aircraft is expected to be complete by 2010-2012, as per the Pakistan Air Force Chief - Air Chief Marshal Tanvir Mahmood Ahmed. In April 2006, Janes Defence Weekly reported that the PAF may procure an additional 33 F-16C/D Block 52+ - these would likely include the 18 option Block 52+ from the current deal. In July 2007, Commander of Central Air Command Lieutenant General Gary L. North (US Air Force), and another US aviator flew a pair of F-16s to Pakistan for Pakistan Air Force. The Philippine Air Force (PAF) also expressed its interest in the F-16 but its plan to purchase modern multi-role fighter aircraft to replace its retired F-5A/B Freedom Fighters has been shelved due to economic reasons and having counter-insurgency operations as its main priority. In the mid-1990s, the PAF did not act on a US offer to sell 28 F-16A/B Block 15 OCU fighters, which were earlier embargoed from Pakistan. The Republic of China (Taiwan)'s Air Force, needing a next generation fighter to replace its fleet of F-16 A/B Block 20s, has expressed interest in the new F-35 Lightning II. However, due to political issues, it is unlikely the island nation will be able to acquire such an advanced fighter in the near future. As a result, the ROCAF has opted for up to 66 new F-16C/D Block50/52 as its interim replacement fighter. This has remained controversial in Taiwan with opposition from the Kuomintang and Beijing alike. F-16C/D Block 30, 50 FIGHTING FALCON Description It is a single-seat, single-engine, multiple role fighter, designed for all weather operations and capable of carrying a great variety of weapon systems. Greece has in its air arsenal about 70 F-16s, BLOCK 30 and BLOCK 50. In 1989 Greece purchased 40 BLOCK 30 under the Arms Programme "Peace Xenia I" and in 1997 40 additional BLOCK 50 300 spartans hunting turks over aegean aircraft were delivered to Greece as part of "Peace Xenia II". The Hellenic F-16s BLOCK 30 and BLOCK 50 are based in the air base of Larissa (110 Combat Wing, 346 Squadron "Iason") and in the air base of New Anchialos (111 Combat Wing, 330 "Thunder", 341 "Arrow" and 347 "Perseas" Squadrons). All the Hellenic F-16s wear the "Aegean Ghost" camouflage, which is very efficient in Aegean operational environment. Specifications: * Crew: 1 (C model), 2 (D model) * Engine: General Electric F110-GE 100 afterburning turbofan (Block 30, 29,000 lbs thrust), General Electric F110-GE 129 (Block 50, 31,000 lbs thrust) * Wing Span: 9.45 m * Length: 14.52 m * Maximum Speed: 2,173 km/h * Service Ceiling: 15,240m or 49,000 ft...

MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho -- Capt. Christopher Stricklin ejects from the USAF Thunderbirds number six aircraft less than a second before it impacted the ground at an air show at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, Sept. 14. Stricklin, who was not injured, ejected after both guiding the jet away from the crowd of more than 60,000 people and ensuring he couldn't save the aircraft. This was only the second crash since the Air Force began using F-16 Falcons for its demonstration team in 1982. The ACES II ejection seat performed flawlessly. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Bosnian Serb Army SA-6 surface-to-air missile shot down a USAF F-16 near Mrkonjić Grad, Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 2, 1995. The American pilot, Scott O'Grady, ejected safely and was rescued six days later, on June 8. The 2001 film Behind Enemy Lines is loosely based on this event. The incident The pilots, Scott "Zulu" O'Grady (call sign "Basher 52", pronounced "Basher Five-Two") and his flight lead, Capt. Robert G. "Wilbur" Wright (call sign: "Basher 51", pronounced "Basher Five-One"), were briefed on the morning of June 2 about the weather and enemy positions they could expect for their flight. The two pilots took off without incident and flew according to their assigned mission parameters. The Serbs had unexpectedly moved a missile battery south and laid a trap for any incoming aircraft. They switched on their missile radars sparingly, giving the F-16 pilots little warning of their position, and fired two SAMs toward the jets. O'Grady was alerted by cockpit instruments that a missile was coming, though flying in clouds, he could not see it. The first missile exploded between the two USAF F-16s. The second hit O'Grady's plane in the belly. As his aircraft broke apart from the damage of the missile strike, O'Grady successfully ejected. After landing, O'Grady abandoned his parachute and moved into the woods. He lay face down, cupping his camouflaged flight gloves over his head and ears so he could not be spotted in the brush. Within minutes a teenage boy and a man wandered past; then he saw armed men nearby. Grady evaded detection even though the search for him continued relentlessly during his time on the ground. Part of this may be credited to his military SERE (survival, evasion, resistance, and escape) training, which taught him how to obtain water and food, evade detection, and avoid medical dangers like hypothermia. The rescue O'Grady waited to radio for help; he had been taught that downed pilots are often captured after calling for help too soon, giving away their position. Finally, on June 6, he signaled his location, using a little more of the small reserve of his radio's battery power each time he went on the air. The next day, just after 2:00 AM, he spoke into the radio. An American voice responded, and the rescue was set in motion. On June 8, 1995, he was rescued by United States Marines of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit based on the USS Kearsarge. ------------------------------------------------------------------

The F-16 was designed to be a cost-effective combat "workhorse" that can perform various kinds of missions and maintain around-the-clock readiness. It is much smaller and lighter than its predecessors, but uses advanced aerodynamics and avionics, including the first use of a relaxed static stability/fly-by-wire (RSS/FBW) flight control system, to achieve enhanced maneuver performance. Highly nimble, the F-16 can pull 9-g maneuvers and can reach a maximum speed of Mach 2+. The F-16 is equipped with an M61 Vulcan 20 mm cannon in the left wing root, and early models could be armed with up to six AIM-9 Sidewinder heat-seeking short-range air-to-air missiles (AAM), including a single missile mounted on a dedicated rail launcher on each wingtip. Some variants can also employ the AIM-7 Sparrow long-range radar-guided AAM, and more recent versions can be equipped with the AIM-120 AMRAAM. It can also carry other AAM; a wide variety of air-to-ground missiles, rockets or bombs; electronic countermeasures (ECM), navigation, targeting or weapons pods; and fuel tanks on eleven hardpoints under the wings and fuselage -- eight under the wings and three under the fuselage.

When two GA pilots, one flying a Pilatus PC-12 and the other in a Beechcraft Premier jet, encountered an F-16 in a Military Operations Area used by Luke Air Force Base in Arizona last March, they had to take abrupt, evasive maneuvers to avoid the military jet. The incident, after it was http://www.avweb.com/avwebflash/news/F16EncounterAngersPilots_197487-1.html first reported in AVwebFlash, set off a lively debate among pilots on AVweb's http://www.avweb.com/blogs/insider/AVwebInsiderBlog_IfYouCantHandleMigs_F16s_MOAs_197505-1.html blog about the wisdom of flying in MOAs, and prompted an in-depth report in our sister publication, Aviation Safety. This week, AOPA obtained a http://www.aopa.org/flightplanning/articles/2008/080707f-16.html video clip from the FAA showing the radar screen during the encounter, and also the voice tape from Air Traffic Control. The F-16 pilot has been reprimanded, and Luke officials told AOPA they will alter their training program to encourage their pilots to avoid similar encounters in the future. In a http://www.avweb.com/podcast/podcast/197492-1.html?kw=RelatedStory podcast interview with AVweb, PC-12 pilot Patrick McCall said his TCAS activated about 10 a.m. that day while he was cruising at 16,500 feet (VFR with flight following) and he had to dive his aircraft as the target kept closing on him. The target followed him in the dive and when McCall leveled at about 14,000 feet, he was amazed by the view from his side window. "I then looked to my left side of the aircraft and saw an F16 aircraft off of my left wing," he said in a written report sent to the FAA. "The F16 was no more than 20 feet off of my left wing."
