Global Education Fund (GEF) is a nonprofit charitable organization working to see that books get in to the hands of the most needy children in the world. To date we have sent book aid to children living in orphanages and remote villages in twenty-one countries. Our scholarship program covers tuition and other educational costs for deservin orphaned children, primarily young women, who would not otherwise have an opportunity to attend high school. It includes interviews with environment ministers of African countries that have been benefiting from GEF support and a number of key political figures.The series of personal accounts detail on the ground results achieved over the past years; it is also highlights the path-breaking role of the GEF and its standing as the financial mechanism of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, UNFCCC.

At the Lighting Africa 2008 conference, Richard Hosier, from the Global Environment Facility (GEF), explains how donor money can support front end activities, like market surveys and product sizing, to stir up the off-grid lighting market in Africa. The global lighting industry met in Accra, Ghana on 6-8 May, to discuss off-grid lighting opportunities and remaining obstacles in Sub-Saharan Africa. The World Bank & IFC Lighting Africa program aims to provide clean, efficient and safe lighting to 250 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa who have no access to electricity.

!!!READ THE DESCRIPTION FIRST!!! Two milestones in this video, 1) Longest puppet video 2) Only one where I did no puppetering whatsoever. Credit for the puppetering goes to my brother. I provided an additional voice, but my brother did the rest. So in this video, he took over Colby and Little J. (its only temporary) and created the role of Gef, that will go to him from now on. Will Gef get over his adiction to Pixi-Stitcks? We will see.
