About two weeks ago our newest Volcom am, 12-year-old Louie Lopez showed up at the private indoor Volcom skatepark with Collin Provost and Volcom pros Darrell Stanton and Ryan Sheckler. After 76 events in 16 countries around the world, the vast field of competitors was narrowed down to 256 for the 2008 VQS World Championships Muscle Beach Party. Each of them qualified in their respective regions and made their way to Newport Beach for this muscular event of steroidal proportions. As the Muscle Beach Party progressed further, the competition intensified, biceps were strained, veins bulged, eyes popped and even the swell size kept bulking up like it too had been in the gym with its personal trainer. Last January, Remy and Steve Stratton planned a trip with Rune Glifberg, Mark Appleyard, Collin Provost, Ivan Rivado, Alain Goikoetxea and Han Claessens to the skate the Black Pearl Skatepark in the Cayman Islands. The boys skated under the hot sun at the park and chilled on the beautiful Caribbean island and this is a little sneak peak of all the action. Music by Sounder and ASG.

Aviones sits on a beautiful little stretch of beach directly in front of our good friend and team rider Willie Carrosco's house. It's also 15 min from San Juan, which has its fill of fun as well. The vibe of this event was super laid back and mellow, as the event came to a close on Sunday afternoon it seemed like the entire town was in front of Willitos house having some drinks and enjoying that last bit of light left in the day.
