KISS is an American glam rock/hard rock band formed in New York City in 1973. The group has performed and recorded continuously since their formation. KISS has sold 63 million albums worldwide and has been awarded 22 gold albums to date, and has certified sales of 19 million records in the United States. Easily identified by their trademark face paint (registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office) and stage costumes, KISS quickly rose to prominence on the basis of their elaborate live performances, which featured firebreathing, blood spitting, smoking guitars and pyrotechnics. The original lineup of Gene Simmons (bass and vocals), Paul Stanley (rhythm guitar and vocals), Paul "Ace" Frehley (lead guitar and vocals) and Peter Criss (drums and vocals) became the most successful and identifiable in the band's history, and released a series of gold and platinum albums throughout the 1970s. Due to substance abuse problems and creative differences, both Criss and Frehley were out of the group by 1982. The band's commercial fortunes had also waned considerably by that point. In 1983, KISS abandoned their makeup and enjoyed a commercial resurgence throughout the mid-to-late 1980s. They began to fall out of favor once again by the early 1990s, however. Buoyed by a wave of KISS nostalgia in the mid-1990s, the band announced a reunion of the original lineup (with makeup) in 1996. The resulting "KISS Alive Worldwide" tour was the top-grossing act of 1996. Criss and Frehley have since left KISS, and have been replaced by Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer, respectively. The band continues to perform, while Stanley and Simmons have remained the only two constant members.

http://www.ted.com - In a preview of his next book, Steven Pinker takes on violence. We live in violent times, an era of heightened warfare, genocide and senseless crime. Or so we've come to believe. Pinker charts a history of violence from Biblical times through the present, and says modern society has a little less to feel guilty about.

NOTE TO ALL VIEWERS: many of you have missunderstood what he said. He did NOT say an african american wrote the words to amazing grace. He never argued that John Newton was not an englishmen, so stop pointing it out! He just said that John Newton was a slave trader and he was. Most of you are so concentrated on black and white, you are missing the point of the whole video!! He is trying to send out a message that God intended for all of us to be united. Weather you agree with the details or not, the message he is trying to send is a good one. So lighten up and take the hint!! When I posted this video, I had absolutely no idea how popular it would become. Anyone who thinks my intention is to "misinform" or to show any disregard to any race or culture obviously knows nothing about me. This is a great video, and I love wintley phipps and so I decided to share. I did not expect it to be so huge!! Of course we all agree that John Newton was in fact a slave trader. Thats the whole point. GRACE. That God can change the hardest of hearts within time if they'll listen. All the other stuff, is just stuff. As far as not posting most of the ones that try to "correct" his views, it was simply to not cause a riot, the few times I have posted negative comments it caused a big debate between that person and my subscribers and especially considering this video has become so popular and so many people watch it, I wanted to avoid a big, long debate. That's it. So please dont be unkind to me and make allegations about my intentions to my subscribers when you are 100% percent wrong about me. I am anything but racist and I dont see how me posting this video would make me a racist, me posting this video means that i'm for unity between races. I have gotten into big long arguements with people multiple times because they made a racist remark. I am the opposite of racist. So please stop saying that because it's just not true and it hurts my feelings.

The Rise of Asia and the Decline of the West Conversations host Harry Kreisler welcomes Kishore Mahbubani for a discussion of the changing relationship between the West and Asia. In the interview, he describes the major transformations occurring because of the march of modernity made possible by the ideas and global institutions created by the West. He goes on to criticize the West for failing to adapt to the changing balance of power which follows from Asia's rise. http://globetrotter.berkeley.edu/conversations/

The West is trying to demonize China. Why? To ensure an upper-handed position economically, politically, and socially. I HAVE MADE THIS AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD: http://www.sendspace.com/file/icmeed http://www.megaupload.com/?d=D0NFT4QI Too many harbor strong opinions about Tibet, yet know nothing more than the few slogans offered by the mass-media outlets. The media screams: "They killed innocent monks!" - but those "innocent" monks and other young hooligans killed innocent Chinese before a single shot was fired on them. "The Chinese are oppressive" - do you consider freeing over 95% of Tibetans from slavery, building a state of the art infrastructure, and a new economy oppressive? "The Chinese suppress Tibetan Buddhism" - then why have the Chinese spent a fortune restoring ancient monasteries and places of religious significance? China doesn't SPIN NEWS like we do. Their silence is too often mistaken as admission of guilt. Don't be another uninformed drone. Do everyone a favor and learn truths before forming opinions. Here's to Peace & Harmony! The 2008 Beijing Olympics deserve support! http://www.monarex.com/chinacol.htm credits: Chris D. Nebe JJ Osbun Mark Grabianowski ***
